Together

We had a great time as a family over the weekend! I am so grateful that Benny, my Mom, and the boys could come and visit! It was quite the adventure for them, flying across country to a new big city. We got to do lots of fun things. Thanks to the Children's House where I'm staying, they have free tickets to all the kid stuff around the city! We went to the Aquarium on Thursday, the Science Center on Friday, the Discovery Center on Saturday, and Little Italy on Sunday. Benny and my Mom did get to spend some time with Lily too, and she loved seeing everyone.

camille said...: Ohhh, that makes me so happy and kinda misty looking at you with Connor and Dallin. They miss you so much and I know it's hard to be far from them. You guys really packed it in, too. I can't believe all the stuff there is to do there. I see Lily is lying on her new silkie, too. Perfect! I got to hang out a bit with Nat today and we had Connor over to swim. Lily (age 5 1/2) will have major bladder reconstruction surgery on Oct 29th at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. It will be an intensive 8 hour surgery, followed by 6 weeks recovery and therapy. Lily was born with Bladder Exstrophy, a very rare and complicated birth defect, and has had many surgeries and procedures in her life so far. This surgery will be an important step for her future. She will finally be continent after having to wear diapers, pull ups, and pads till now. It will not come easy though, as it will take many weeks of hard recovery in a city across the country from our home in California. I am making this blog/journal for my friends who also are dealing with bladder exstrophy, and also so that me and Lily will have a record of our experiences during this trial in our lives.
