Progress

Having my mom here was so great!  But even greater was the progress Lily made over the last few days, and that my mom got to see that!  She reached the point where she could finally sit in the wheelchair and get out of out room for a little bit.  So on Thursday we lifted her out of bed and sat her in the chair.  I knew that our first stop needed to be the shampoo bowl!  Her hair was looking so scary!  It was really knotted and matted into a one big dread-lock.  I knew it was going to be a challenge.  She did good and it must have felt great to get her hair washed.  She complained about the brushing, so I got almost all the knots out.
After her washing, we walked around a little before she started to get really dizzy.  Her neck and head are not used to being up like that.  So she wanted to get back in bed.
Friday, she went for another walk.  This time we took it real easy and slow.  She did just fine that time too, but did end up getting a little dizzy.
Today Lily took 3 steps over to her wheelchair. This was big!  Her body is so weak, and also very skinny.  Her muscle is ALL gone, so we have to move very slow with this. But she did take 3 steps, and then did it again later too.  We were all very happy and proud of her.  In her wheelchair again, me and my mom took her down the elevator to the main floor to walk the big hospital loop.  She is definitely getting more used to sitting up.  It was nice to walk around on a Saturday night, cause it's very empty here on weekends!
Here are some pics
