The Old Hospital

No news yet today about her x-ray, but she did get it this morning. I am still waiting to hear what they think. I went for a walk today around the hospital grounds, which is more like the size of a college. Actually part of the hospital is a college, since this is a teaching hospital. The original hospital is this beautiful old building, which now is mainly staff offices. It was the first building, built on a hill away from downtown. It was built at the highest place of the city to get away from the plague a long time ago.

We are in the building behind the dome to the left
And student buildings are across the street

Inside the dome building is a huge statue of Jesus, it's a very beautiful and peaceful room!

Trivia fact: hospital "rounds" were invented under this dome when the doctors would gather in a circle each morning to talk about the patients that day.

Very cool! I love that statue. One of my favorites. I'm sure it was a very reassuring thing for you to see...
That is an interesting fact about "rounds". (btw, I love the color of the walls in the dome)

So beautiful and historic. That is so cool! I remember when I was little my dad would come home from work and I would ask him what he was doing. One time he had just eaten a piece of candy and was crumpling up the wrapper and then said he was making "rounds". SO, I put two and two together and for the longest time I thought my dad was a candy maker. I mean, it makes sense...rounds and candy?!!! Who wouldn't think that?

Just looking at the pictures, and missing you. We missed you so much over the 4th weekend. We went to the fireworks with Benny and the boys, and had a fun time. Its certainly not the same without you though!

We love you.
