Halloween 2009

This last week was full of fun Halloween activites. First was the "Truck or Treat" at the church. I was solo this time so we don't have as many pictures. I was an Angels fan and Lily was the cutest Ballerina!

On Halloween we went over to the Thackers. They have such a fantastic kid-friendly neighborhood and the boys seriously scored with the Candy! Thanks Bryan and Summer for the yummy food too!

ABOUT

Lily (age 5 1/2) will have major bladder reconstruction surgery on Oct 29th at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. It will be an intensive 8 hour surgery, followed by 6 weeks recovery and therapy. Lily was born with Bladder Exstrophy, a very rare and complicated birth defect, and has had many surgeries and procedures in her life so far. This surgery will be an important step for her future. She will finally be continent after having to wear diapers, pull ups, and pads till now. It will not come easy though, as it will take many weeks of hard recovery in a city across the country from our home in California. I am making this blog/journal for my friends who also are dealing with bladder exstrophy, and also so that me and Lily will have a record of our experiences during this trial in our lives.
