La Jolla

Last Sunday we decided to take a fun outing to the La Jolla Cave and Cove.

It's something we have wanted to do for awhile, and knew they would love it.

It was a beautiful day and the cave was pretty cool!

We then went to the Ek's for our Easter Part 1. It's always so fun with all the cousins, the kids get an awesome egg hunt. Dallin's Birthday was that week and he found the much coveted Golden Egg with a 5 Dollar bill inside. He was shaking with excitement!

Lily (age 5 1/2) will have major bladder reconstruction surgery on Oct 29th at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. It will be an intensive 8 hour surgery, followed by 6 weeks recovery and therapy. Lily was born with Bladder Exstrophy, a very rare and complicated birth defect, and has had many surgeries and procedures in her life so far. This surgery will be an important step for her future. She will finally be continent after having to wear diapers, pull ups, and pads till now. It will not come easy though, as it will take many weeks of hard recovery in a city across the country from our home in California. I am making this blog/journal for my friends who also are dealing with bladder exstrophy, and also so that me and Lily will have a record of our experiences during this trial in our lives.
