Another year older and wiser . . .

Benny turned 34

on Thursday and we've had a great couple of days celebrating! WE went to Lucille's (YUM) for the Birthday dinner. My parents and Cara and Matt joined us for a great time!

The next night I planned a surprise Date night at Disneyland for us. We met up with 5 other couples and had a great time! We spent the night laughing and screaming. Good times!

Lily (age 5 1/2) will have major bladder reconstruction surgery on Oct 29th at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. It will be an intensive 8 hour surgery, followed by 6 weeks recovery and therapy. Lily was born with Bladder Exstrophy, a very rare and complicated birth defect, and has had many surgeries and procedures in her life so far. This surgery will be an important step for her future. She will finally be continent after having to wear diapers, pull ups, and pads till now. It will not come easy though, as it will take many weeks of hard recovery in a city across the country from our home in California. I am making this blog/journal for my friends who also are dealing with bladder exstrophy, and also so that me and Lily will have a record of our experiences during this trial in our lives.
